A message from Hume Lake High School Ponderosa Summer Camp:
Ponderosa can seem pretty surreal at first—one thousand campers, epic team competitions, cinematic camp themes, balcony-shaking music, and virtually endless activities, all at 5200 feet elevation in the national forest. But once you settle in you’ll realize that Pondy is actually very real—breakout groups with your peers and youth pastor, sunrise worship by lake, and a thousand simple moments where you notice the Gospel at play in your heart and all around you. Ponderosa truly is the best of both worlds where you can escape the regular routines of life while rediscovering all the things that a life in Christ provides.
Hume Lake is a place of great natural beauty, with warm summer days, cool nights, an amazing lake and wilderness surroundings. God makes cool stuff!
Junior High - The Junior High group (entering 7th - 8th grade) will be Hume Lake June 3 - 13, 2020. The camp is located at 64144 Hume Lake Rd., Hume, CA 93628. You can go to hume.org for more information.
The speaker at Hume Lake this week is TJ McDaniel. TJ is the High School Pastor at North Coast Church in Carlsbad, CA. He and his amazing wife met at Hume Lake, and have been married for four years. They enjoy rock climbing, pretending to know how to surf, and wish they had a puppy. The camp is located at 64144 Hume Lake Rd., Hume, CA 93628. You can go to hume.org for more information.
A message from Hume Lake Junior High Meadow Ranch Summer Camp:
“To the Meadow!!” Meadow Ranch is a phenomenal place for junior high students to get away from the everyday distractions and into the quietness the Meadow has to offer and learn more about who God is. From outdoor activities, energetic recreation, silly skits and suspenseful night games, to exceptional speakers, inspiring dramas and impactful worship, your time at Hume will make you want to come back for more! Mexico Mission Trip
Dates: April 13 - 19, 2020
Time: We leave the church at 4:00am!
Cost: We will fund-raise for this trip. Our God is amazing and will provid hugely for this trip! The cost per person is $600 per person.
Join us as we partner with Amor Ministries to build a house for a family in need.
Contact Rodney Owens, our Student & Family Director, if you want to go on this trip or if you want to support those who are going!
Purpose: The Great Commission in Matthew 28 tells us that we are to go and make disciples in all nations. This trip gives us the opportunity to live out that verse by going to a different country to provide hope. We want to be ambassadors for Christ, and we see that when Christ was doing ministry he provided for peoples’ physical needs while providing for their greater need - Hope and forgiveness of sins. We will be doing the same on our one week trip to Mexico. We will be teaming up with Amor ministries to build a house for a family in need while sharing the hope of the Gospel. Also, this year we will be putting on a VBS for the kids in Mexico. Please keep our team in prayer. We have worked well as a team, and my prayer is that our participation and planning that we have worked towards thus far would continue into Mexico and that we would come back with our hearts softened.
