After attending Covenant for nine years, Larry joined the Covenant staff in 2013 as the Pastoral Care Team Leader. He is responsible for visiting CCC members and their families in hospitals, convalescent homes, and personal homes to provide spiritual comfort and guidance. He also helps as needed in the Sunday morning services.
Larry was born and raised in San Mateo. He graduated from San Mateo High School and the College of San Mateo with an AA in Aeronautical Engineering. He then went on to attend Point Loma Nazarene University where he studied to become a pastor. Vietnam interfered with his plans, and after a tour in the Air Force, Larry finished his formal college education at Southern Illinois University, graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering.
Larry made a career of working in aircraft maintenance and retired from the Air Force Reserve and United Airlines. After retiring in 2009 Larry felt the call of God to be a chaplain. He followed the call by taking classes which led to a license and ordination as Chaplain. Besides his work at Covenant, Larry volunteers as chaplain at Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville and with the Christian Motorcyclists Association.
Larry loves to ride his motorcycle at least every Saturday. His interests also include reading with his wife Cindy. They have been married for 44 years and have two children and two grandchildren.
