The Greatest Christmas Story Ever Told: Peace
As you watch White Christmas, here are a couple of things to consider:
- Bob and Phil were very close friends in the war and after. At one point, Phil protected Bob in a bombing, putting his life on the line. Who are the people that God has called you to protect? Who protects you? During this Christmas season, we are mindful that many men and women are away from their families. There are many men and women who are first responders who lay their lives on the line. Why not take a moment to make a Christmas card and thank those who sacrifice so much? Why not send a card to a soldier or deliver a card to the police station or firehouse? Here is a link that offers more information to send to soldiers: https://www.shutterfly.com/ideas/how-to-send-soldiers-christmas-cards/amp/
- Major General Waverly was a highly respected leader of people. When he came back to civilian life, he struggled a bit. There is a moment at the end of the movie when his previous soldiers come to support him and he looks around to see all the men. They are his legacy. Take a moment to talk about what you’d like your legacy to be? For you? For your family? For our church? What is one thing you can do to help start building each legacy this week?
