Operation Christmas Child

Christmas ChildShare the love and hope of Jesus Christ with a needy child in a country such as Indonesia, the Philippines or Mexico by using a simple shoebox.  Last year, more than 7.6 million gift filled shoeboxes were distributed in over 75 countries, in partnership with more than 56, 000 churches, schools, businesses and civic groups.

Anyone can participate by wrapping shoeboxes and filling them with items such as small toys, school supplies, and toiletry items such as soap, toothpaste, or a comb. The filled shoeboxes are then taken to a collection center in Vacaville where they are combined with thousands of other shoeboxes that are then shipped to countries where kids suffer from famine, poverty, war or natural disaster.

Covenant has participated in Operation Christmas Child for several years now.  In 2009, we filled over 200 shoeboxes.  Let's fill even more in 2010!  Shoebox collections will begin again in October 2010.
