Date: Third Thursday of the Month
Time: 3:30pm-6:30pm at Shiloh Baptist Church
Cost: No cost! Come and serve your community!
Purpose: God has called us to make a difference in the world. Think for a moment, if the church’s door closed how would the community respond? Would there be a hole that is opened because we were filling it? We need to be difference makers in Vacaville. We have the opportunity to serve the homeless community by making a meal on the third Thursday of the month. We will be cooking the meal at Shiloh Baptist Church (across the street from Vacahigh) and then serving the meal, praying, and encouraging all who come. (Luke 10:30-37)
Dates: April 2nd-8th
Time: We leave the church at 4:00am!
Cost: We have fundraised for this trip. Our God is amazing and has provided hugely for this trip! The cost per trip is $600 per person.
Purpose: The Great Commission in Matthew 28 tells us that we are to go and make disciples in all nations. This trip gives us the opportunity to live out that verse by going to a different country to provide hope. We want to be ambassadors for Christ, and we see that when Christ was doing ministry he provided for peoples’ physical needs while providing for their greater need - Hope and forgiveness of sins. We will be doing the same on our one week trip to Mexico. We will be teaming up with Amor ministries to build a house for a family in need while sharing the hope of the Gospel. Also, this year we will be putting on a VBS for the kids in Mexico. Please keep our team in prayer. We have worked well as a team, and my prayer is that our participation and planning that we have worked towards thus far would continue into Mexico and that we would come back with our hearts softened.
Date: July 29th-August 4th
Time: 9:00am on Sunday morning is departure. 4:00pm on Saturday is our estimated arrival.
Cost: $600 is the total cost. Many of our students were given scholarships, raised money through hard work, and the deacons gave sacrificially so that our students can go to camp.
Purpose: Now, more than ever, our students need to have a thriving relationship with the Lord. If they are not seeking Him, then other things will fill up their time. Often times it is not sin that tears us away from God, but it is our business that keeps us from Him. We are praying that this time would be a time where students are not moved and compelled by their busy schedule, but that in this week our students would be able to be calm and listen to the words that God has for them. Be praying for our students and children’s program as we get ready for an amazing week!
